Los Angeles City Councilman Dennis Zine’s July 4th Fireworks Extravaganza gave Military Officer and Senate candidate Todd Zink the opportunity to present Zine with an American Flag that had flown in Afghanistan.
“Councilman Zine has been a leader in this area for many years. His dedication to the community is unquestioned,” said Zink. “That flag is one that has been defended by service members all over the world. On the birthday of our country, I was honored to be able to present it at such an outstanding event.”
The flag was flown over the Base Defense Operations Center (BDOC) of 1ST Battalion, 23RD Marine Regiment, Camp Leatherneck in the Helmand Province of Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom.
The 4th of July Extravaganza featured live music, food vendors, play zone, and fireworks show. It was enjoyed by thousands of local residents and is a tribute to the efforts of the community to organize an activity with so many different parts.
Zink is the front-runner in newly drawn 27th Senate District. In June, he was the top vote getter in the district. Zink is married to his wife, Christon, a Vietnamese immigrant and attorney specializing in Workers Compensation Defense. Todd and Christon live in Westlake Village with their two sons; Hunter, age 7, Conner, age 5, and their rescued mutt, Lucky.
